Job Summary
AlliedUP is seeking a Healthcare Quality Improvement (QI) Specialist to support quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and risk management initiatives within a collaborative Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment. This role plays an integral part in ensuring the organization maintains compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations while driving continuous quality improvement efforts through data analysis, reporting, audit support, and performance monitoring.
Our client is a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the diverse communities of Santa Clara County. Reporting directly to the Quality Improvement Manager, this position serves as a key member of a small, collaborative team, providing day-to-day support for quality initiatives, regulatory readiness, and compliance activities that promote safe, effective, patient-centered care.
This position is contract-to-hire with the potential to convert within 90 days based on performance. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for direct hire. Candidates should clearly demonstrate Quality Improvement (QI) experience on their resume and possess a strong understanding of healthcare quality, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Improvement & Performance Monitoring
- Track and report clinical quality measures, including UDS measures, HEDIS measures, and internal quality performance indicators (KPIs)
- Monitor clinical care gaps and assist with quality improvement initiatives and corrective action plans
- Collect, analyze, and report quality data to support organizational performance improvement efforts
- Participate in quality improvement committees and cross-functional workgroups
- Maintain documentation supporting HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, FTCA, and other federal, state, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with HRSA Operational Site Visits, FTCA applications, accreditation surveys, and ongoing regulatory readiness
- Monitor regulatory updates and support implementation of compliance initiatives
- Coordinate compliance-related documentation and monitor certification and renewal deadlines
- Support internal audits and collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative departments to ensure compliance
- Track incidents, adverse events, patient complaints, and near misses while identifying trends and escalating concerns when appropriate
- Assist with risk management activities that promote patient safety and continuous quality improvement
- Prepare routine and ad hoc reports for leadership, committees, and regulatory agencies
- Maintain organized compliance records and quality documentation
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to create, manage, and analyze reports and spreadsheets
- Document quality improvement activities accurately and maintain organized tracking systems
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One or more years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, compliance, healthcare administration, risk management, or a related healthcare support role
- Experience supporting quality improvement initiatives within a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, FTCA, UDS measures, and healthcare regulatory requirements
- Experience assisting with audits, compliance activities, and regulatory readiness
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets and reports
- Experience utilizing EPIC or another Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health center
- Familiarity with HEDIS measures, healthcare quality reporting, and quality improvement methodologies
- Experience supporting HRSA Operational Site Visits or accreditation surveys
- Knowledge of quality improvement frameworks such as PDSA cycles or root cause analysis
- Experience working with healthcare compliance documentation and regulatory reporting
