Certified Medical Assistant Floater (Bilingual English/Spanish) – Contract

Location: Oakland, CA (Multi-site)
Job Type: Contract

AlliedUP is seeking a bilingual Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinic operations in a fast-paced community healthcare environment. This role includes both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient intake, vital signs, lab support, documentation, scheduling, and assisting providers during examinations and treatments.

Travel between clinic locations may be required. Our client is a network of clinics in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire providing medical, dental, mental health, and substance use services. New Graduates Welcome! Willing to train!

Schedule may vary, must be able to travel different clinic locations if needed. Clinic Hours:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Either an 8:30am-5:00pm or 11:00am-7:30pm 
  • Wednesday and Friday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm  
  • Saturdays: Every Saturday, except when covering a clinic Monday thru Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs, medical histories, and prepare patients for exams
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments
  • Perform injections, phlebotomy, EKGs, hearing screenings, and routine lab tests
  • Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Support scheduling, registration, referrals, and front desk operations as needed
  • Maintain exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and stock supplies
  • Communicate lab results and patient instructions as directed
  • Support patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations
  • Travel between clinic sites to support staffing needs

Required Qualifications

  • Valid and current State or National Medical Assistant Certification required from one of the following:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
    • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
    • California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA)
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required
  • Ability to travel between clinic locations
  • Strong documentation and medical terminology knowledge
  • Experience working in fast-paced healthcare settings
  • CPR / BCLS
  • OSHA
  • Phlebotomy
  • First Aid

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EHR and Practice Management Systems (PMS)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Community health or FQHC experience preferred
