Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – $28/hr

Location: San Jose, CA
Pay: $28.00/hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM. Occasional Thursday evening shift (10 AM–7 PM), approximately once per month or as needed.

AlliedUP Co-op is hiring an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a well-established, mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving diverse communities in San Jose.

This is a great opportunity for an MA with strong primary care experience who enjoys hands-on patient care, working alongside providers, and making healthcare more accessible to the community.

What You'll Do

Room patients, take vital signs, obtain medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations.
Assist providers with exams, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy within your scope of practice.
Document patient visits and update medical records using Epic EHR.
Support patient check-in, insurance verification, scheduling, and follow-up appointments.
Provide patient education and assist with immunization records and care coordination.
Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and follow infection-control procedures.
Collaborate with the care team to deliver excellent patient service.

What We're Looking For

Required:

Current Medical Assistant certification from a recognized state or national certifying organization, including AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NAHP, or CCBMA.
Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient primary care clinic.
Epic EHR experience.
Current CPR certification.
Strong clinical skills, communication, and patient service abilities.
Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.

Preferred:

Bilingual English/Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Vietnamese.
