Member Services Representative Bilingual Spanish Community Health
Location: Oakland, CA (On-Site)
Job Type: Full-Time Contract to Hire
Pay: $25 per hour
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, Saturdays as needed
Language Requirement: Bilingual English/Spanish required

About the Role
AlliedUP Co-op is seeking a customer-focused Member Services Representative to support a mission-driven community health organization in Oakland.
As a front-line member of the clinic team, you'll welcome patients, manage check-in, verify insurance, update information in Epic, and help patients understand healthcare coverage and available low-cost programs.
What You'll Do
- Greet and check in patients, providing a welcoming and professional experience
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
- Schedule appointments and maintain patient information in Epic
- Verify insurance eligibility and correct coverage information as needed
- Answer incoming calls and provide general clinic information
- Collect patient payments
- Explain eligibility and services available through County, State, federal, and clinic programs
- Enroll eligible patients in free or low-cost sliding fee discount programs for medical, dental, and optometry services
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Collaborate with clinic teams to support efficient patient flow and access to care
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual English/Spanish required — must be able to communicate effectively with patients in both languages
- 1+ year of recent healthcare registration and insurance verification experience preferred
- Epic experience with appointment scheduling and patient check-in preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a busy, patient-facing healthcare environment
- Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Excel experience
- Ability to type at least 25 WPM
