Bilingual Spanish Medical Assistant Women’s Health– Contract-to-Hire

Location: Hawthorne, CA
Pay: $25 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

AlliedUP Co-op is hiring an experienced Bilingual Medical Assistant (English/Spanish) to join a mission-driven Health Center for Women in Hawthorne, CA.

We’re looking for an MA with hands-on experience in women’s health, OB/GYN, prenatal care, or family planning who enjoys providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent employment while supporting women through important stages of their healthcare journey.

What You’ll Do

  • Room patients, take vital signs, obtain medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations.

  • Assist providers with pelvic exams, Pap smears, prenatal visits, and other women’s health procedures.

  • Support prenatal care, including screenings, lab coordination, patient education, and follow-up.

  • Administer injections and immunizations as ordered and within scope of practice.

  • Perform pregnancy tests, specimen collection, and other point-of-care testing.

  • Document patient visits accurately in electronic health records (EHR).

  • Support preventive screenings, patient outreach, and follow-up appointments.

  • Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and follow infection-control procedures.

  • Communicate with patients in both English and Spanish.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program.

  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on Medical Assistant experience in a clinic or outpatient healthcare setting.

  • Experience in women’s health, OB/GYN, prenatal care, or family planning.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish – must communicate effectively with patients in both languages.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of clinical procedures, medical terminology, and infection control.

  • Strong patient service, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in an FQHC or community health center.

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
