Medical Assistant – Women’s Health / Prenatal

Training Provided | New Grads Encouraged to Apply

Are you a Medical Assistant interested in OB/GYN, prenatal care, or women’s health? This is a great opportunity to build specialized skills while working with pregnant and postpartum patients in a community health setting.

Location: San Bernadino, CA
Pay $30 per hour
Schedule Monday, Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm, Tuesday 11:00am – 7:30pm, Saturday 7:00am-3:00pm. Off Wednesdays. 

We are seeking a compassionate, bilingual Medical Assistant who will be trained to provide Comprehensive Perinatal Services (CPSP), including prenatal care coordination, patient education, assessments, care planning, and referrals.

New graduate and early-career Medical Assistants are encouraged to apply. OB/GYN, women’s health, or prenatal experience—including externship or clinical experience required.

What You’ll Do

  • Support patients throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.
  • Collect urine specimens and perform pregnancy testing according to clinic protocols.
  • Welcome and orient patients to the prenatal program.
  • Complete prenatal and postpartum patient assessments under appropriate supervision.
  • Assist with developing individualized care plans.
  • Provide prenatal health education and counseling following CPSP guidelines.
  • Provide basic nutrition education and assist with nutrition questionnaires and pregnancy weight tracking.
  • Support psychosocial screenings and identify patient needs.
  • Connect patients with healthcare, social services, and community resources.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow up on patient needs.
  • Document patient care, appointments, referrals, and outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Work closely with providers, Medical Assistants, Case Coordinators, and other members of the care team.
  • Participate in CPSP training, team meetings, and professional development.
  • Assist with general clinic operations as needed.

Qualifications

  • Valid and current State or National Medical Assistant Certification required from one of the following:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
    • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
    • California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants (CCBMA)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • OB/GYN, women’s health, prenatal, or maternal health experience or externship exposure 
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR/BLS
  • Basic computer and EMR skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient service skills.
  • Comfortable working with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to complete required CPSP training/certification within first 60 days of employment.
