Facilities Manager  (Contract to Hire)

Job Summary

The Facilities Manager serves as the operational lead supporting the Director of Facilities and oversees daily Environmental Services (EVS) and Maintenance operations across multiple Baywell Health sites. This role ensures facilities are clean, safe, compliant, and fully operational to support patient care and staff needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise EVS and Maintenance staff (approx. 10 team members)

  • Coordinate daily cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities

  • Conduct routine facility inspections for safety and cleanliness

  • Schedule staff and ensure coverage across locations

  • Oversee preventive maintenance for building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)

  • Respond to urgent facility issues and service requests

  • Manage inventory of facility supplies and equipment

  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers

  • Support renovations, moves, and facility improvement projects

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and infection control standards

  • Track work orders, response times, and operational metrics

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of facilities, EVS, or maintenance operations experience

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience

  • Healthcare or FQHC experience preferred

  • Experience supervising housekeeping and maintenance staff preferred

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills

  • Knowledge of safety, infection control, and facility operations

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory tracking systems

Requirements

  • Ability to travel between Baywell Health locations

  • Strong communication and team leadership skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Reliable attendance and professionalism required
