Location: Central Fremont, CA
Pay: $25 – 26 per hour
Job Type: Long Term Contract, Full-Time
Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00 and 10-7 or 11-8 per clinic hours. Weekends as needed


Join a large, mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center serving diverse communities throughout Alameda and Santa Clara Counties.
We are seeking compassionate and dependable Medical Assistants to support both clinical and front-office operations. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
  • Room patients, take vital signs, document medical histories, and prepare patients for exams.
  • Review and update patient information in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Prepare exam rooms, instruments, supplies, and procedure trays.
  • Perform clinical duties within scope, including ECGs, venipuncture, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, injections, and vaccine administration.
  • Complete medication reconciliation and assist with refill requests as directed.
  • Provide patients with instructions related to referrals, imaging, laboratory testing, and follow-up care.
  • Support preventive care outreach and help close gaps in care.
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate delays or concerns to providers.
  • Maintain infection control, cleanliness, supply inventory, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with front-office duties as needed, including registration, check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, confirmation calls, and insurance eligibility verification.
  • Refer insurance enrollment and financial assistance questions to the appropriate staff.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificate of Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
Preferred
  • Three to six months of healthcare experience; new graduates are welcome.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills 
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Vietnamese, Hindi/Punjabi, Tagalog, Spanish, and Mandarin preferred)
Credentials
  • Ability to pass a background check and LiveScan Fingerprint
  • Physical within 1 year
  • MMR vaccines (two vaccines/titers), Immunization Records or waiver.
  • Varicella vaccine (chickenpox) Immunization Records or waiver.
  • Hepatitis B series (three vaccines/titers) or Immunization Records (no waiver options)
  • TB testing within 1 year.
