Community Health Advocate (CHA) – Child Watch
Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $26/hour
Location: Oakland, CA (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Client: Mission-driven FQHC serving Oakland communities
AlliedUP Cooperative is seeking a Community Health Advocate (CHA) – Child Watch to support families participating in a community health program at a respected Community Healthcare Center in Oakland. This contract-to-hire role provides childcare services for infants and children in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain a safe, clean child watch area

Supervise infants and children (ages 1 month–12 years) during program activities

Facilitate age-appropriate play and activities

Provide emotional and physical support to children

Escort toilet-trained children and change diapers as needed

Supervise snack time and clean up after sessions

Participate in required trainings, meetings, and program events

Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
-
Six (6) units of Early Childhood Education or Child Development (grade “C” or better), or
-
Four (4) months of ROP Child Development training

Experience: At least one (1) year working as a childcare aide, teacher aide, or similar role

Certifications:
-
Infant & Pediatric CPR/First Aid (within 30 days of assignment)

Ability to pass background check
-
Negative TB test upon hire (maintained every four years)

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform childcare-related physical tasks
