Job Title: Employment Specialist
Location: Remote/Virtual
Pay Rate: $28-$35
Schedule: Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm Pacific Time Zone. Weekends and nights as necessary.
The Employment Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for finding, obtaining, and maintaining employment for participants in the AlliedUP Cooperative ecosphere.
Recruitment
- Identify, outreach, and recruit eligible participants for specific program populations.
- Source participants from internal ATS and external tools such as Indeed, Zip Recruiter, Referrals to meet hiring demands of client partners.
- Use various methods to provide outreach (email, text, phone calls, etc.).
- Conduct thorough assessments of each participant's education, work experience, skills, abilities, and qualifications to determine suitability for employment.
- Analyze information obtained from intake, interviews, and other sources to develop short- and long-term participant goals
- Develop ongoing professional partnerships with the business community as well as community partner agencies, schools, colleges and universities
- Input necessary information into tracking system(s); organizes cases; maintains and updates records on participant employment, training, and follow-up activities
- Develop Individual Employment Plans for each program participant outlining employment-related needs/goals.
- Evaluate participant progress on planned goals and document accomplishments.
- Work closely with participants on resume development and other documents required for employment.
- Monitor and evaluate participant progress through program components
- Plan, develop, and facilitate pre-requisite training on job search and job readiness techniques.
- Conduct special workshops, presentations, group orientations, or perform other training for participants.
- Identify and resolve problems/barriers that hinder employability.
- Match participants to suitable employment opportunities.
- Understand participant skills and experience and present for qualified roles.
- Maintain up to date information on local job market and opportunities to assist in providing guidance to participants.
- Provide post-employment services to build bridges to long-term job retention.
- 2+ Years experience in career services. economic or workforce development, recruitment and placement, or experience managing care or people in a healthcare environment.
- Healthcare training or work experience a plus.
- Understanding of business and recruitment and hiring practices in healthcare.
- Knowledge of Employment and Placement strategies.
- Knowledge of regulations and policies impacting employment and benefits.
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and implement employment plans.
- Ability to teach new skills and find jobs.
- Demonstrated cultural competency in working with a diverse population and is able to relate, understand and develop good rapport with participants in the program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) – Bullhorn specifically a plus.
- Ability to manage case load and meet required deadlines.
- Ability to document all activities, use of company templates and process.
- Strong calendar management and meeting notes documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including both written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be flexible for calls outside of normal business hours.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Calendly, and Zoom.
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing working environment.
